Established in 1946, the beach town of Las Terrenas is located in the northern peninsula of Samaná, Dominican Republic.  You will enjoy pristine beaches, the palms swaying in the soft breeze, crystal-clear water, and loud ass Dominicans singing and dancing like nobody's looking.  The town is a tiny bit congested but safe and surprisingly diverse with restaurants from all over the world.  We will be staying at the all inclusive Bahía Príncipe Grand El Portillo resort so  everything there is pretty much at your disposal.  However, I recommend you visit the town to get a dose of Dominican culture.  There are some pretty places to see around Puerto Plaza Hotel and Shops, a couple of buildings that look like ships.  It is conveniently near the beach and even the tiny bridge that crosses a river is inviting.  There are some narrow cobble stone roads along the coast for nice long walks.  Playa Bonita has nice restaurants where you can have paella right by the beach.
